Roger George
Undeniably one of the best Soca voices in the Caribbean - Roger George has been singing for over 17 years.
Following his illustrious young career in which he won the title of ‘Junior Calypso Monarch’ three time (1988, 1990, 1991) Roger was to replace ‘Tamboo’ as one of the lead singers for Charlie’s Roots.

His first solo release was in 1992 with ‘Winer Girl’ which he followed up the next year with ‘Jam and Wine’.
In 1994 Roger took part in the San Francisco Carnival working with the band ‘Banyon’. In 1995 he would permanently migrate to Miami where he joined forces with the famous Trinidad duo Carl and Carol to become lead singer of the band ‘Islander’.
In 1998 Roger again began to participate in Trinidad Carnival when he had some success with the tune ‘ Take it out’. But 2000 was the watershed year for Roger
· He had a hit tune ‘Trinidad and Soca Fiddle’
· He joined with mega soca band Xtatic, which he toured extensively with before joining Byron Lee & the Dragonaires in 2002.
· His song ‘Soca Jamboree’ was performed by Exodus Steel Orchestra and won the Trinidad Panorama Steelband Competition. Exodus again won the competition in 2001 with another of his songs ‘Happy Song’.
He composed and performed one of the top five tunes for Trinidad Carnival 2002 ‘Break’ which featured Machel Montano and was included on the Xtatic CD.
Roger is married and resides in Miami when not singing Soca, Roger enjoys listening to R& B, Jazz and Gospel music.
